Ok - took me a little longer, but I got the roll bar bolted in for good, windshield frame in place, the spreader bars are in place, and the center box is next - hopefully Friday. And please excuse the 7.5 tons of decorations in the back of the garage...... I live with a pack rat LOL

Had a few free minutes today at work, so I went over to the wood shop and played around with the wood carving machine - basically a small CNC router. Uploaded the steering wheel logo, generated the cut file, and after a couple tries, wound up with this....
I need to clean up the corners of the cuts, throw a coat of clear on it, then color in the graphics. Stand by.....

Man what the heck is up with spell check lol jaunt what is that? I just picked up a cedar tree trunk that my hoa chopped down I think I am going to make a few simple coasters myself

Ya they where clearing scrub brush from the fence line and a few of the trees where Cedar and I saw your post so I knew what I need to do with one of the trunks

You can also slice a piece off now and then and use it as an air freshener...... if you like cedar

I love cedar and that is a good idea I used to keep a few pieces of chopped up cedar branches in the closets to make em smell good

I got some of the color on the center cap tonight..... used epoxy tinted black for the lettering and border, filed it flat, added some red and blue paint (don't have any tint in red or blue, so throwing paint in the logo), and filled in a few small bubbles in the black. Once I get the red and blue built up, I'll cut the center out and lay in the white to complete the AMC logo....This just might work.....
The down side is the software for the cutter doesn't seem to wanna do a 3D graphic, so at this point I can't do the tops of the shift knobs...... unless I can find something on the web that contradicts my belief........

Gonna try after lunch tomorrow. Cross yer fingers...
Got the steering wheel center medallion all colored up..... the white section doesn't make very happy - bottom edge isn't straight, but I'll just try to not stare at it while I'm driving. It's nice and smooth and ready for top coat. The OEM had a clear domed "lens" over it, but I'm just gonna lay a heavy clear coat over this one and pop it in place.
Also got off my lazy butt and got the coil bracket cut out, trimmed up, sanded, and first coat of paint on it....
It actually will be oriented like this :
I'll drill and tap a couple holes in the top bar for the collar that goes around the coil. Haven't rigged that up yet so don't know where I need the holes.....

Well, I bought the paint a while back not anticipating it taking this long. I got impatient. Besides that, I had planned on painting it in pieces anyway and didn’t wanna have to assemble, disassemble, paint, and reassemble. Nothing left now but the smalls......
