Ok guys. I got a ticking sound that is driving me insane. So There is a ticking sound coming from the engine or Transmission area. only does it when im pressing the accelerator. up hill, down hill or on flat land and during all rpm ranges. when i press in the clutch and rev the engine it doesnt do it. when im sitting still and rev the engine it does nothing.when im driving down the road lets say down hill ish i press the accelerator and it will tick but as soon as i let up it stops ticking but when i start to accelerate again it starts ticking again. im lost here any suggestions.

Kind of sounds like spark knock to me. Check your timing, try running some better or higher octane gas.

If it is a mechanical issue it sounds a little like a universal joint breaking down under load.

:agree: with HH. When was the last time you serviced the U-joints and slip splines on both DS's?
Get under your Jeep and check for play/slop. The U-joints should have NONE-ZERO-ZIP.

ok guys thanks. i will give it a look see. the gas is going to have to wait a couple of days though.

Sorry for the long update. but i looked into spark knock and it was pretty right on. i looked on the web and found some trouble shooting procedures and i checked the plugs, then checked the timing. it was wayyyy off. should be at 6ish and it was at 12 O.O so i backed the distributer back an nudge and the problem is solved. im still going to put some better gas and run some sea foam through it later today. but for now thank you guys for the suggestion.

Good to hear it was just a timing issue. :chug:
Make sure the clamp that holds the dizzy in place, holds the dizzy 'TITE'.

Kind of thought that's what it sounded like. Glad you solved your problem! :D
