My CJ7 has an issue when I put it into 4H and do a little wheeling, then try to put it back in 2W the Transfer Case is tough to get out of 4H I have to use both hands and brute force to get it out of 4H I have tried going forward and reverse and it's still very difficult. Once it's out of 4H it shift fine into 4L N and 4H and ideas?

Try backing up a tad. Not a great distance, just a few inches or less. May take some of the stress off the Transfer Case . Front and rear are never perfectly matched spinning rates. One of the reasons not to run 4wd on a dry solid surface. The wheels need to slip a little. It is binding, that's why it is so tough. I bet you feel the tension release when you brute force it out.

Might also try unlocking the front before trying to shift out if you can.

Did you inspect the linkage?
Is it sloppy, or in good shape?
While there clean the linkage and shift rails.
Grease the linkage, and put a light coat of spray lube on the exposed shift rails.

AMC did state instructions for operating the Dana 300 . When going into 4wd, you should be at a slow roll as you operate the lever into 4wd. With the aftermarket t/c shifters it is a little easier also.
