I have a 700r4 tranny that is getting a little hot. It’s running around 200-210 with the original cooler which is mounted in front of the radiator. I’m looking at buying a B&M Hi-Tek SuperCooler with Fan 70297 to replace the stock cooler. Do you think that would solve the problem? Second option, replace the stock Transmission cooler in front of the radiator and then put the new Transmission cooler with fan mounted elsewhere on the return line. Which way would you go and why? Thanks for any advice!!

Before adding gadgets, I would check to make sure that the problem does not lie with the Transmission itself. Providing extra cooling for a Transmission that suddenly started overheating is only a bandaid. How long has it been since you changed the Transmission oil? How old is the filter? Once the Transmission is warmed up, try going from park to drive with your foot on the brake. How much lag time is there before you feel the Transmission engage? If it's more than about 1 second, you probably have internal problems, clutches, bands, pump, etc. Diagnose the problem rather than try to just cover it up, you'll be glad you did.
