What Transmission should I put in my 1983 CJ7 with a 350 Chevy?

Good question I'm looking at one as well. Was thinking of a T-4 ? Either way I'm wanting a manual, possibly a 4sp w/over drive?

A T-4 and v8 is a bomb waiting to happen. Incommando I don't know anything about nv4500 I assume it wouldn't need an adapter to mate up to the 350? Just looking for knowelege.

What transmission should I put in my 1983 CJ7 with a 350 Chevy?

I know a guy that has a T-18 -1B set up for a Chevy engine, should be ready to attach to your bellhousing and Dana 20 Transfer Case .
That would be almost the ultimate (cheap) way to go for a manual Transmission .

He lives in Utah, so it wouldn't be a huge relocation problem.

A T-4 was the weakest Transmission available. That thing will disintegrate fairly quickly with a V8.
