Alright, on my 78 CJ7 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l , there is a piece of tubing with a fitting on it coming off of my exhaust manifold that is not hooked to anything. Any ideas what this is for, where it should be hooked, and if it should even be there? Picture....

Thanks

I see it. Im not positive but could it be a heat riser from the manifold to open the choke on the carb? My 360 had something similar.

That rusty one under the intake? It looks just like the one on my 84...goes into the bottom of the stock air cleaner. I always tear those preheater hoses putting them on. It's so bad I actually buy two when I go to replace it :) ...but I'm in California so I can't even have a needle hole visible in it if I want to pass smog!

This. It goes to the automatic choke.

I still have no picture.

it looks like the climatic choke tube for the carb. What type of choke is on your carb now? If its an electic choke now you dont need it anymore.
