Just what would be the benifets of installing a twin stick in my Dana 300 , seems to me that you wouldn't be able to shift into 4wdh without stoping, as long as you have the hubs locked in, like you can with the one stick factory. Can someone help I've got the Transmission and Transfer Case out now replaceing the clutch. Any opinions or advice will be apperciated.:):dunno:

You can shift into 4 high just like you can with the single stick.
I've found shifting to be easier with the twin stick, doesn't seem to hang up as much, and getting out of 4L is much easier.
For me one of the biggest benifits is being able to drive in 2L on the trails and just popping in the front axle as needed.

Oh I didn't think to clearly one stick controls the rear axle and the other controls the front axle. I had a brain fart! Now do you have to take the front drive yoke apart to put the twin stick in properly? Think I've read on this form someplace you need to take the linkage out of the front drive yoke to install properly, not sure? Thanks for the info!!

You just take the old linkage off and put the twin stick linkage in it's place.
Depending on who made the twin stick some people have had to do a 1" body lift to clear the linkage while others haven't had to.

Well I have a 4" lift on now and when I put it on a had to move the console to get it down into 4wh I'd hate to have to put in anther 1" of lift. Who makes the one that you dont have to put the body lift on, if you know?

Dont know of the 300 is the same as my Dana 18 but if you want full independent control - front hi/lo 2wd you have to take the Transmission apart to remove the locking pills. I did not remove mine as I did not worry about needing front wheel drive hi/low Just wanted rear hi/low for my normal trail riding.

On the Dana 18 they are the last parts to remove or the first to go back in. So a full dissassemble woudl of been required.

I have the twin stick in my 84 as well. I love it. As stated above, it is much easier to shift into the gears. However, if you have the Transmission drop, you will have to trim your cover plate. I have trouble shift into low because the shifters hit the plate. I thought I fixed it but I have to trim more. Also, I found I have to back up or go forward slow to get it back into Hwy gear...

I have a Curie twin stick in my Dana 300 , and I love it I have an '82. My dad has an '84 with a twin stick, he didn't put it in and we don't know what it is, but my Curie was easy to put in. Hard to get to, but it's just a linkage.

There are two tits coming out of the Tcase and they're tied together and hooked up to a single stick. The twin stick just attaches a stick to each tit and you're done. Getting mine lined up in the hole in the body wasn't easy but I got it done.
