Vacuum hoses in an 84 cj-7

I'm installing a new Weber carburetor in my 84 CJ7 , and was wondering if anyone had a good picture of all the hoses that need to be hooked up. I got the jeep without a carburetor so wasn't able to identify all the hoses laying around or ones that aren't even there. Thanks for the help.

Google post nutter vaqcuum diagrams. Thats what you need. IF it hasnt been nuttered yet do that also.

OK, I have never heard about this nuttered thing. I'm new to the CJ world so learning as I go. Anybody have a good thread explaining the process more and way I need to do that. I googled it and found diagrams, looks fairly simple. Any info would help though and suggestions on doing it right.

I have no experience with the Weber for CJ's but wisdom would have it your trashing all the smog equipment. That being said the only thing typically used/needed is a vac advance line to the distributor which goes typically above the throttle plate so no vac at idle. BTW, there is as much debate on ported VS non ported on the vac advance as there is synthetic oil or not, so I wont go there. The other is the brake booster which can go to the intake manifold itself, and last is the PCV line which goes to the base of the carb or adapter so you have vac at idle and at rpm.

found this write up on Nutter bypass, it gets rid of the feed back computer and all of its useless components to simplify your engine down to what you need, This was the first thing I did to my Jeep http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f8/how-nutter-bypass-522262/

also here is a write up for the TFI upgrade on the ignition it is a good thing to do thats fairly cheap and will give you a hot spark Motorcraft Distributor TFI Upgrade for the AMC 258

Yes.. thats the idea of the nutter. Since you already have the weber taken care of dont worry about setting the metering pin (you dont have one now). You basicly need to just swap the distributor wiring to the ignition module and your done.. all the rest of that can come out.. including the computer. All it does is move revert your ignition back to the the old style.

As mentioned in a previous post do the big cap swap and TFI module. I went to my local yard to get a cheap used TFI module and they wanted $40 for it. I was able to buy a MSD Street blaster TFI module new for 35 and picked up the Icc1 harness from napa for another $13. Open your plug gap, get a set of good wires and enjoy the jeep.

dude thats a super slick adapter to mate the factory air cleaner to a weber and a very beautiful engine to boot

I can't take credit for the engine or the photo, although mine looks pretty damn good too and I have the adapter for the Weber also. This is one of Keith460's posts from his restore and is an 84. You think his engine looks good..... his Jeep looks like it rolled off the showroom floor. In pictures and in person.

Yeah I know what you mean. His Jeep was my first inspiration as well. Then a year later I seen it in person, and from a distance I knew right away what Jeep it was. It's one of those Jeeps that sets the standard for all the builds going on out there. The whole 4 year build is on the jeepsunlimited site, search for "sebring red".

When doing the nutter bypass, do I have to move the vac line from the distributor or leave it where I have it running to my weber. Jimbos76cj said just to run the wires and I'd be done. I've been searching forums trying to figure out where exactly I need to T the vac line into with my new Weber 38. Has anybody done this?
