I wonder of there are any survivors in Viet Nam. We sent thousands of early military CJ's over there....
I wonder if you could go fill up a trailer and bring it home...

Whatever the military version of the CJ was, or its predecessor. I'm not a jeep expert. Maybe they were all Willys? I just don't know. I just know there were a lot of them over there.

Just asked my good friend who came from Laos, (next door to Vietnam) who emigrated back in 1975 to here. They had old military jeeps back then they were driving for transportation. He just got back from a visit last month. He said he saw none. The monsoons and humidity probably ate and killed them and probably lack of parts. I would imagine 40-50 years later in Vietnam the same thing

I have am old high school buddy who lives in Quang Ngai now teaching English. I will email him and ask him. He posts a ton of pictures on Facebook and I don't remember seeing any jeeps in his pictures. I would imagine the climate is not very good for them long term.

Vietnam = Mutt M151, M151 A2 Ford, Kaiser, AM General was their 1/4 ton vehicle.
Korean War = M38, M38A1

Here is the answer I got from my buddy who has lived there for the past four years.

"I have seen two privately owned Vietnam era US Army Jeeps since I have been here...both were in Saigon. The other Jeeps were on display at the various war relic museums in each town and also at Cu CHi tunnels. The War Remnants museum in Saigon also has a couple but they are upstaged by the Agent Orange babies in glass jars."
