Doing research I read that the following on my 1980 CJ5 vin should give me the original engine size that was in it:

the 7th digit on my car is a B which does not match up to any of these. Can someone point me in the right direction?

A = 258ci, 1 bbl
C = 258ci, 2 bbl
E = 232ci, 1 bbl
H = 304ci, 2 bbl

Looking at the '81 engine VIN codes, B = 151ci 4cyl.

'80 is an odd year for the VIN decoders. It uses the format of the late 70s, but with different drivetrain options. '80 was the 1st year of the AMC CJs with 4 cylinders, but they never show up on the VIN decoders.

B is the GM 151 4 cyl
Some 80 CJ came with a 151 4 cyl
Your Transmission casting # would be 13-40 for the 4 cyl engine as well
