Weber 32/36 on a 151 engine

I just installed a Weber 32/36 on an 83 CJ7 's GM 151 engine. I am curious if anyone has photos of how the throttle linkage is supposed to be attached. I just sort of stuck the ball socket end of the throttle cable onto a part of the carburetor that seemed reasonable and then added a spring or two to make sure it would pull back when released. The way I have it now works, but I'm certain it isn't the "right way" to do it (that would be a miracle).

I bet that carb woke that motor right up!!!! is the linkage front to back or side to side? do you have any pic's of ur set up?

The linkage is side to side, with the throttle cable pulling at more back to front angle. I'm not sure if the bracket the throttle cable is on is part of the engine or the previous carb. The weber is replacing a Rochester Varajet II, and I stupidly pulled it out without understanding I'd have to redo those attachments. I have a bunch of springs that moved the old setup, and I've just thrown some on to push the pedal back.

The silly spring setup in there works, I drove it today for the first time. The only odd thing is that after it heats up, few minutes into a drive, the engine will idle very high. When I stop at a light it races. I don't have a tach, but sounds like it is just under shift speed. I know it isn't the springs not pulling the throttle cable back. I've checked it while it was doing the high idle and the idle adjust screw is just barely touching the pivot it hits, just as I set it up. Looks the same way cold. Anyway, that isn't really related to my question, I just wanted to share the reason I was just searching for a vacuum leak with carb cleaner and lit my engine bay on fire in the driveway.
