What belongs here?

This is a photo of the passenger side just below the Jeep logo on my 1984 CJ7 .

There are 4 holes and I am curious if anyone knows what should have gone here?

There are no other holes like rocker panels would have caused so it looks like some kind of plaque or badge.

Stumped me, thought it may have been an emblem of some sort but I can't find anything mounted that low.
Wonder if it was a special edition, export, or PO add on?

That's exactly where the aluminum rocker panel covers were screwed onto my '7 when I got it. There wasn't anything factory-mounted there.
