What did you do to or with your CJ today?
I replaced plugs, wires and rotor today. I did this to procrastinate packing for a seven AM flight tomorrow. I'm spending three days in Manhattan with my girlfriend, her sister, her two nephews, her father and his fiance.

Then on Thursday, we fly to Burlington, VT and drive to her uncle's cabin, off the grid and just us two, in upstate NY AND I WON'T HAVE MY JEEP!!!!

What a waste of no cell service. :(

Drove a friend - of 26 years - to an indoor shooting range where she fired her first round of her life. Her boyfriend has several firearms in the house and she knew nothing about them. He's wiring boats in Alaska for the next six weeks or so.

Using my Glock 19, she learned muzzle control, proper stance, proper grip/thumb placement, putting a single round in the magazine, seating it racking the slide and she put several rounds through paper.

I drove her home, left her with a hard, plastic training/inert pistol so she could practice picking up a pistol w/her finger indexed.

The Jeep behaved nicely on this auspicious occasion and she said she enjoyed riding in it.

It was one of the most awesome Jeep days I could imagine EVER for me.

Got the wipers working from Saturdays ride. just a fuse, I thought that 5 amps was a bit small. Put in a 15. Fixed a wiring problem, I had put two wires in the wrong place in the weather tight connectors. the high beams turned on the Aux lights and the Aux switch turned the high beam lights on but only if the Aux lights were on. Removal tool for the weather tight pins is a good investment at the moment.:D

after going to get my new JK's lift components re-torqued after 500 miles... i ended up getting sponsored from a local off road shop for my CJ5 ... so they gave me Chrome plated:

-oil pan
- valve covers
- dip stick
- timing chain cover
- battery bracket
- brake booster cover
-aluminum radiator
- oil cap
- radiator cap

oh and to top it all of with they gave me a complete engine gasket rebuild kit.... not too bad for the price of free!!

so it looks like im pulling the motor this weekend!!!!

Wow, You must have an award winning smile, Zac! Sweet. How close are you to needing your decals? I wasn't planning on charging you either...

I got a notificaion from DMV that my plates and registration have been suspended for lack of proof of insurance. Funny I've had insurance it going back several months BEFORE it was registered for the road. When it was registered I tried to show them my insurance card, but they wouldn't take it. When I went on the AZDOT website they have a form for insurnace verification so I filled that out and got a responce, "This vehicles registration and plates have been suspended due to lack of insurance verification." But that supposidly what I just did! It's no big deal really, my insurance person will write a continued coverage letter for and deal with ADOT. And that's what I did with my Jeep today.

Found out that I have been driving around without the current valid registration since my new personalized license plate registration invalidates the current one. The new registration arrived without the actual physicsl plates yet so I never bothered to put the new paper in the CJ.

Not a clunk... That sound was bad! I still hope it was the hub spinning on the axle.

Replaced 2 loose body mount bolts yesterday. Now it doesn't bounce when going over bumps in the road. Wish I'd done that sooner.

Was there another possibility? Seems to be o. k. if I just shift easy...

Checked my engine oil and was totally amazed that it was full considering how much seems to be leeking from my valve covers and onto my exhaust manifold.

It would seem that a little oil smoke goes a long way...

Finally shed the hardtop and doors this weekend.:driving: Feels so much better. Its just been a busy rainy Spring.
