Another one, 'History Rated'.
Hey HH, what diameter will these coins be?
LG

These would be military style Challenge Coins. You can choose the size when ordering. Ranging from great big down to 1" or so. Honestly I'd love to do this, coins would have 2 sides, I'm not so sure about a badge type design though. The difficult part is paying for them, the original die costs ~$125 and coins on top of that. The die is a one time only charge. For our company 100-2" coins cost a little over $550 (According to the manufacturer made totally America would cost over $2,000, I did ask). Of course that's $5.50 a coin. If more were bought it would be less expensive per coin and above 300 coins the die charge goes away, with out a doubt it's an incentive to buy more coins. If I could swing the cost I would, but unfortunately ........ Well, we could pool our resources, but I fear that could ultimately create trust issues.

There are similar companies that do this sort of thing for vehicle badging. I've done some research, but not enough to give details here.

Can we just 'do' one side so some of us could attach these to the dash of our CJ's?
Was think'n in the size range of 1 1/2"- 1 5/8" dia.
Just a thought is all.

After work I hope to get my heater fixed....

Ok, this isn't today (last summer).....it's been snowing for 3 days and a friend just text me this pic which reminds me of good times.

Side note As I recall it was a very warm day so I tossed on the external pusher fan.

1 5/8". That is a good size and I think I sided would be good also. The right design and I would throw in for it

I could only throw in about $100, beyond that I can't do more. I've done 1.5" and 2", not sure about 1 5/8".

I'm good with that for something nice looking also if we could get enough others to go with it:chug:

2" is always better than 1"

But. I understand it, the 1 5/8" is so symbolic.

1 1/2" dia will work just fine.
Let me know how much for 2 w/S&H.

So I dropped the driveshaft and replaced the u-joints. The rear one fell apart when I took it out. The bearings were turned to dust. Put in moog greasables with the fitting on the cap.

With the driveshaft out and in 4hi, I took the CJ to the store and the vibration was not there. So I think I that one tackled. I will know tomorrow for sure when I take it for a spin.

Hope you greased those 'joints' after install. :notworthy: The grease you saw was just for assembly purposes only, not for in-service. ;)

Picked up a new grease gun and grease to do these and hit my tie rod ends. Will do that tomorrow. Got too late this evening.

Took the hard top off for the first time (for me) and took it for a spin. What a blast! Then I fought the best top bikini (tan) that seems brand new and got it on. I will dive it today to see if it holds.
Oiled the bolts to the back seat so I can remove them today hopefully.
Removed the original carpet and found some rust areas I will need to address in the passenger floorboard.
A great day yesterday.!

Removed the carpet and found some floorboard rust on the passenger side I will need to address.
Tried to rig a bracket for the driver side mirror. Failed miserably but will try again.
Oiled the hood latches and hood hinges.

That's all good stuff to do on your jeep. The carpet can end up being a real problem if it ever gets wet or damp. I learned early in life about rust because of growing up in the tropics so when I bought me jeep new I knew that metal was going to be problematic. I keep grease on the bolts and threads. Another area that can an area of concern is where the roll bar is mounted to the jeep. AMC mounted them bare metal to bare metal. I've removed mine 3 times in 33 years and wire wheel the corrosion off and treat/paint and seal back with silicone to keep out moisture

Changed out fuel filter and checked all fluids

Jut for giggles, I ordered a chunk of vinyl to wrap the dash, glovebox door, and maybe the tailgate to see if I like the color. I sanded the dash and GB door, hit em with a coat OD paint (for a smooth surface), and will throw some on the after the paint is ready. I know - I'll take a couple pics here in a bit....
