Chopped my Dodge 9.25 down to 60 inches, this was fun and nerve wracking at the same time so it now has moser 45mm deep taper bearing ends, discovered my axle housing was bent a little not surprising for an 83 4x4

Making progress! Are you going to join the Texas convoy to Ouray in August?

Man I wish I could but I don't think my parts fund is going to get my Jeep done this year, I have all the expensive drivetrain parts to buy

I hear ya man. I have a long ways to go to have mine where I want it do be for CO. I hope my war department approves the funding. I have recently learned that it is easier to ask for forgiveness. :)

We need to get the Texas guys together when your done!

two too many rattlers! We have em but you got to go out of way to commune with them.

Had a great day trying to make it up to my cabin in the mountains here by Lake Chelan, WA. Had a friend with his CJ5 , I was driving my CJ7 . Made it up half way, then my friends CJ carb. started to stumble and stall out. We were able to get turned around and had no more trouble with the carb. All in all a great time.

Green-Next time your friends Jeep acts like that. Pinch off the fuel return line from the fuel filter.

Took her out for the first time Sunday. Did the first mod Sat getting ready. Needed a place to keep stuff so I put in a center console. (20mm ammo can)

Had a similar episode Sunday. Once I got on level ground and let her sit a while she was good to go. Sure makes a good case for fuel injection.

I had anticipated a deadly backbreaking ride with the short wheel base and leaf springs, but she did better than expected. (better than my old F-250) Not comfy by any means, I just had expected to die a horrible painful death. I also took things slow and easy. I know that coilovers would be much softer riding, so I still want to do the changeover.

Lol maybe some suspension seats will help, YJ leaf springs will help to

Picked up a cheap set of old but never used flares....... fairly rigid plastic, not flexible like the OEM flares, but got all 4 for 30 bucks - figure they'll do till I spring for a good set. Went ahead and dug em out of the garage and started fitting them to the tub and fenders. They appear to have been molded with a larger radius than the wheel opening, but a little squeezing and they fit nicely. I'll add some heat and see if they will relax a bit. Got two done today:

looking good shum8 maybe leaving them outside in the sun will help set them the the Jeep? is that green on the tub?

is that green on the tub?

Yeah - as I got the body work done here and there I hit it with self etching rattle can primer to keep the bare steel from rusting..... hopefully here in a couple weeks everything will get a final overall sanding and hit it with the good stuff....

Once I got the whole tub all greened up, I kinda like it........ but the flat green Jeep's are dime a dozen around here...
