What did you do to or with your CJ today?
Good to see that this forum is back... really missed it. Thanks, CJ...!!!

What exactly are you insinuating, sir...?
Insinuating ? Nothing ! Those older Jeeps are really cool. CJ 2s 3s and 5s just are not very comfortable for getting in or out of, or riding in for several hours unless you have young flexible bones. I would love to have one, but I would have to modify my seat area to spend any time in it.

Okay... I thought you were insinuating that we, as a rule, are too fat for old Jeeps...

btw... I am too fat for old Jeeps.

Me too, and my bones are creaking as I type this. Just didn't want to insinuate

I am so glad these threads are coming back. I miss the verbal abuse!!!

You need to get out more. Plenty of that and hand signals on the hiway these days. Not much patients anymore

Solved the Fat butt problem by putting a handle on the YJ spreader bar from roll bar to windshield. Throw a leg in and pull on the handle. Only occasionally does it take a few kicks to get the leg up.:D If it wasn't for that the CJ would never leave the garage. Seriously thinking of getting rid of my OME 2 1/2" lift.

Why we decided not to do the 2 1/2" lift. Too old, too high, too fat, too painful. I installed 1/2" shackle lift and am now deciding on whether to do 1" or 0" body mount/lift. I'd like a little extra access ontop of the frame, but not necessarily the lift, and you don't get hardware with the 0" lift.

Since this is likely one of the last nice days we’ll have(rain, ice, and snow predicted for next week) I decided I should get off my butt and get the carpet kit installed in the 5. I bought the cheapest I could find so I really wasn’t expecting much, just a little more insulation for the winter. The fitment was a little funky, but no big deal there. I didn’t use the supplied glue as I want to remove it in the spring. A couple of strategically placed pieces of industrial Velcro and we’re good to go.932ab943304779ca9a11afe797e0e2a4.jpg

Mounted my “new to me” wheels with 35s. Don’t look a lot bigger than the 33s (chrome wheels) but looking at the jack that was supporting the transfer caee, I guess it did raise the jeep a little.
