Drove it to work, got rearended at a stop sign by one of my co workers who failed to see the car I was yielding for. Zero damage the spare tire took the hit and the bumper/tire carrier didn't bend. To bad I haven't mounted a 12 inch radiator height spear to punish the un aware.:biggun:

Wow thats crazy

Cut off the ends of the spring u-bolts because they were sticking out below and figured they would get hung up on rocks somewhere along the trail. 68739460-718B-4699-9812-0A9040924804.jpeg0853C699-6194-4354-82ED-451971601227.jpeg

Well not today but a couple days ago started to tear down the sbc 350, when removing one of the old exhaust manifolds a bolt snapped, couldn't get it out, so drilled and tapped with success. Got cold so waiting till next week to complete disassembly for paint

Was a warm day today so I went for a good drive along the coast of Louisiana and Mississippi on the coast road. Sunny and around 82 so a great day with the top off. 220 miles total

82?................ Was 28 for a low here. Hey, maybe dyslexia:poke:

I have finally been able to secure a hardtop and steel doors after nearly a decade of looking. The condition of the hatch and amount of rust on the doors, not to mention the distance of shipping (most advertise "local pick up"), just didn't lend itself to getting it done. Visual inspection is a prerequisite for me as well. Came across a local find of a Cj top, YJ doors, and because I needed a new windshield frame anyways, a YJ window frame. I threw the YJ cross bars in for something to grab onto and pull my old butt up into the jeep. I've had hardtops in the past. I've forgotten how nice they are. Maybe it's an age thing but I'm glad this one came along. If you're in the Colorado Springs area and need a good shop, F.E.M.I. Offroad is a good one. They did a great job of putting this upgrade together for us.
