Did some upgrades to the CJ this last summer. The lightweight flywheel and pressure plate had been on my wishlist for a good while.
Well that time thing is getting shorter. Retirement is happening in a couple weeks. Planning on 2 or 3 Jeep trips hopefully this coming year.Take your time, bud. That attachment point isn’t the only option.
I wish could retire and just do some Jeep trips but I have a few more years yet. Not many just 30 or soWell that time thing is getting shorter. Retirement is happening in a couple weeks. Planning on 2 or 3 Jeep trips hopefully this coming year.
Yeah that work really slows down really nice Jeep trips. Speeding and long hours to get some place for some nice off roading. Then more long hours getting home tired and having to go back to work. I’m ready to just take my time and enjoy the whole trip and not have to worry about getting back.I wish could retire and just do some Jeep trips but I have a few more years yet. I keep saying that to the one old guy at work who's been ready to retire since before I started there. It's always next January is it then it's June then it's next June and so on. I keep telling him if you're not careful you will end up like my neighbor. always saying this season is it. Well last summer he just dropped dead in the middle of the field one night. I will not be that way I swear.Yeah that work really slows down really nice Jeep trips. Speeding and long hours to get some place for some nice off roading. I work at a pretty big place and we have about 4 of those guys. Anywhere between 72 and 78. There have been a few that have passed, between mid 40s and early 50s. I guess it’s all just a roll of the dice. I just know I’m done with all that.I keep saying that to the one old guy at work who's been ready to retire since before I started there. If you enjoy the work enough, so be it. But I just turned 60 and plan to exit stage left in 2.5 years. Could retire now, but I'll have 25 years at that point, completely vested, and financially ready. No kids at home, paid off mortgage, no car notes. I'm not working because I was bored and needed something to do. So when the work is no longer needed, time for fun and grandkids.I work at a pretty big place and we have about 4 of those guys. I understand all that but he complains about work so oftenIf you enjoy the work enough, so be it. But I just turned 60 and plan to exit stage left in 2.5 years. 100% agree. First 24 years were pretty good and job also. Place has a lot of history and was interesting. Last 14 years and 2 contractors in place not so much and poor management. Pension from the first and nothing from the last 2. I’m somewhat like you. Paid of the house 23 years ago and no car payments either. I am taking care of my young adult ( 21 ) daughter in 4th year of college and apartment. Great kid so I have no problem doing that. Only place I’m bored at now is work. Time for fun.
