What did you do to or with your CJ today?

What did you do to or with your CJ today?
Spent about an hour and a half today cutting metal to cover holes and prepping for panel bonding.

I need to remove some more rusty spots, but I need a new arbor for my dremel cutting wheel. I could only cut with the angle grinder. Sometimes that’s too big, lol.

I put my top and doors on today now that Thanksgiving is over and colder weather is settling in

Man, I feel for you all. Nothing but a bikini top for me for years... Not saying I didn't freeze my butt of though... :)

Possible winter storm for Tuesday

I’m like you, but when I came back from Arkansas 3 weeks ago I knew a cool front was coming in the evening before I left and I didn’t want to drive 8 - 9 hours in that. 30 - 40 years ago I would have attempted it.

When did it get so hard to find windshield wipers for CJs? It felt like just a few years ago I was able to walk into a part store and pick one up. Now everybody is out of stock or it's super expensive from sketchy sellers. Summit Racing is the only guys who have Trico Wipers in stock and at a decent price. I just ordered a pair:

So many times I drove to Daytona Beach with gloves, a toboggan hat and a bikini top just to look cool. Boy was I dumb!

How about a review when you get a good test.

I probably could have gotten through this winter with just half doors and a bikini top. It doesn't get that cold in NC, unless you're in the mountains, but it's been years since I used my Bestop, so I figured why not give it a try. I think it also makes you more motivated to drive your CJ, when you don't have to layer-up like you're summiting of Everest. 😁

Rock Auto my friend.

Tip buy for all of your vehicles and group shipping. Saves you a few dollars.

That was my first purchase when I got the jeep, lol. I had a tough time too. I ended up with a 2nd pair. That’s ok. I’m going to need to get them anyway. I never thought about Rock auto. I think I spent 13-15 each.

This summer I started driving lessons with the kid on the 7. She’s learning to drive a stick. I figure if she can drive a beater jeep around in all its rusted leaf spring glory with a Transmission that has well worn synchros she’ll be able to drive anything.

I heard her tell her friends yesterday that she’ll be driving the jeep around next summer. In my head, I’m thinking:

What?!?

lol. I’m lucky. If I need to buy another CJ7 , I’ll survive!

Same here, and I spent as much on shipping as one of the wiper blades. Honestly I never thought of using RockAuto. I came across them over the years, but their website is so weird and confusing, I just assumed they're some sketchy seller that would mess up my order and never refund my money. Its good to know they're legit.

I've ordered from them once or twice over the years......

The only thing I’ve found with Rock Auto is it takes a long time to get what you order. At least it has for me. But if you don’t need it fixed tomorrow, it’s all good!
