What did you do to or with your CJ today?
Got it all tore apart this morning, found a fried spindle bearing, and an inner wheel bearing on the verge of going out. At least it will be a cheap fix. Now to clean all the greese and dirt off everything and get it put back together.:)

:)Just the one side?
:D:D:D:D

:)Just the one side?
:D:D:D:D

No, both sides will get new bearings and seals. ;)
I don't want to have to tear it down again in a few months.:D
The good thing is neither bearing was spun yet so the spindles and axles are still good.

:)Building some rock guards for the sides of my old CJ5 ...........but more importantly using these as out board supports to tie in my down tubes on the roll cage. Previously they just tied into the sheet metal floor and fender tubs.
Getting older and smarter!
:D:D:D:D

:)Got some time today to get back to these rock guards........drivers side is in minus a few bolts and most importantly the brace for the roll cage down tube is in.........nice to get the cage tied into something that has real support.
Now on to the passenger side................
:D:D:D:D

:)Nice to have tools..........Looking forward to getting these done. I'm going to float the body on Energy Suspension Mounts all the way out to the outriggers so that everything is moving in the same moment. Take the tub off next and box the frame and fix a few other little things that need attention on the suspension, give it a coat of paint or undercoat , more to follow.

Picked up my spindle bearing kits, wheel seals, and axle seals from napa after work that I ordered saturday.
Just got in from putting the axle seals and diff. back in. It's to danm hot to do anything else tonight, I'll finish up tomorrow morning when it's cooler.
Now it's :chug: time. Need to replace all that I sweated out.:D

Tore down and cleaned up the 1995 4.0 to start building my 4.7 liter stroker.

picked up my 44 this morning, tried yesterday but found the boys at the gear shop didn't realize the OX was "some assembly required" . everything looks good now. I have a trip to Horrible freight planned for the morning and the rest of the day is all about axle.:chug:

Used my winch to pull out a cemented in fence post. It took a heck of a lot of digging too.

pulling posts is the one thing that I have found a Hi Lift jack does really well with out trying to kill me.:D

Yes, I often use a HiLift jack to pull out fence posts if they aren't cemented in.
Hi Lift, the tool with 1000 uses.

I guess I'm looking for new lockout hubs. I found a break in one that was not there a few days ago,:( (before the boy went mud bogging out back in the pasture with the girl friend:mad:). Oh well, better to discover any weaknesses here than on a trail.

Built a rack for the back and new lights ... over the last few days.

Just a wild guess
But id bet that hub is protesting that pink wheel bein bolted to it.

Welded and ginded, welded and grinded the stress crack on the interior drivers' door. My body welding skills leave much to be desired. So after much contemplation, I thought I would pretty it up by tack welding a nice peice of metal over my stinky body weld. I also installed new weatherstrip and window wipe on that door after the paint dryed.

I got 3 of them! So I'm with ya buddy! :D

Though I really need to find where they sell the gaskets for the top, and the old metal spouts that fit it... My spout threads are too small and the lids leak on every one of them (the rubber is gone.)

But picked em up for $5.00 each :cool:

:chug:

I tried to buy a spout the other day ….. NA in CA
So I made one from a broken old spout …. Welded a barbed fitting in and put a rubber hose on.

Are you goin on auburn jeep club rubicon deal next weekend????
