Broke an exhaust manifold bolt off in both heads. Pulling old manifolds to install Hooker competion fenderwell headers. But that was yesterday. Thanks to rr41mag we are making noise with them uncapped.:notworthy:

Over the weekend got the tub done, roll bar and steps. Now just the dash left to do...

Just bought mine today. Going to go thru it tomorrow. Will gut and redo the interior for sure in the future. No rust underneath or on the exterior. So excited to own a CJ !!!! :D

Just got it all back together today. It was leaking oil from every possible place it could, the clutch was chattering every time I took off from a stop, and it was popping out of second and reverse. In the last month or so I tore it down, took the Transmission and Transfer Case to the shop and had it gone through. Transmission crossmember was rusted beyond repair so searched high and low for a new one and finally found a pretty solid crossmember in Boulder, Colorado. Rails in the Transmission top cover were broken so ended up finding a good top cover at the same place in Boulder. Replaced the clutch, pressure plate, pilot bushing, throwout bearing and had the flywheel surfaced. New starter ring. Replaced the rear main seal and of course replaced pan gasket. Replaced the valve cover gasket. Replaced motor mounts and Transmission mount. Took it out for a test drive and the clutch is as smooth as new and the only thing still leaking is the fitting at the power steering reservoir and I'm working on that.

Redid spindle and wheel bearings and seals, painted calipers and diff covers.

#1. Replaced driver front wheel u-joint
#2. Valve cover gasket installed.

#2 led to the discovery of HORRIBLE buildup in the engine. Guess the replacement comes now.........

Wow, good luck with that! I spent my jeep time running down a left side front and rear light problem. Finally narrowed it down to a bad splice in the rear quarter panel. Took it apart and put it together and now everything works. I hate fixing other people's wiring messes...

Running trails of Moab! :D

Valve cover gasket was a waste of time and $17 i believe. Took the Jeep on its maiden voyage with me, about 15 miles round trip. I think I lost a half quart or better of oil!
