Spent yesterday over at Adam Brown Customs again.
We cleaned, sanded and painted the roll bar, rockers, power steering pump, steering column, brackets, etc.
He installed new alternator, new windshield, spare tire carrier, e-brake, pedals, exhaust/intake manifolds, new valve cover.
No pics... too tired and forgot. Will take some today.
Going back over... he says we'll get it fired up today... then tomorrow it goes to the exhaust shop for a complete new system.
Looking to bring it home Saturday.

Well.... At 66 years of age, hope I have at least 20 years. Still got a lot of things on my bucket list!
Honestly, three years ago, I was going to just 'get rid of it'. I'd already dumped a lot of money into it. But I absolutely hate not finishing anything I've started.

Duplicolor Black Truck Bed Coating #TR50 on roll bar and rockers (and rock crawler bumpers eventually). A much finer texture and blacker than the Raptor.

Another long day at Adam Brown Customs… got home at midnight… lots of time on the wire wheel, paint booth, and cleaning, installing, and replacing parts.
New alternator, coil, complete distributor, power steering lines, radiator, gas cap, plugs, wires, valve cover, oil and filter, master cylinder, water pump, fuel pump.
Its off to the exhaust guy this morning for a complete new custom built system.

Was at Adam Brown Customs til late last night. I installed the seat belts, glove box compartment and door, battery rack and battery while Adam protyped the general wiring in the engine compartment... all the while cussing at each other in mutual admiration and then he was ready.
The engine cranked and we realized that a couple of vacuum ports hadn't been plugged. Cranked again and nothing... realigned the distributor... and nothing... then noticed the coil wire dangling... hooked it up and it fired...!!!
Man... it just purred into the new exhaust system.... sounded really good.
Couldn't run it but a few seconds... something about there being no radiator or something to that effect....
I called it a day and went home... no idea how long he stayed...
I didn't get to drive it, but that could all change tomorrow.
He is going to clean up and loom the wiring, install the radiator and we are going to hit it again tomorrow; the last day of my vacation. We may drive it over to get the safety inspection... then it will stay with him for a few more days as he does some final tweaking...
as always... maybe.

Don't ya hate it when you just get going and have to recharge the batteries in your drill & screw driver?
You are certainly doing the job right. Don't be disappointed if your first drive is less that you expect. Sometimes it takes quite a bit of fiddling to get the drive line geometry right.

Well this weekend, got old Blue's state safety inspection done and got him licensed for the road. Installed new front lap belts. Picked up the future tires and rims ready to go on. Basically took him out and drove it around town. Got the clutch installed previous weekend, so shake down cruise.

Looks like Wednesday night test drive!!!!
- Got all the rest of the misc. brackets blasted and painted.
- Got the universal joints replaced in the drive shaft... still needs to be installed.
- Got all of the lights and gauges working... all of them.
- So far the only thing that doesn't work are the two lights in the volts and pressure gauges... well, they work until they are popped into the gauges... so weird.
- Speedo and throttle cables installed.
- Radiator and hoses installed.
- Wire looms in engine compartment installed.
- Headlights and front turn signals installed.
- Installed horn… works.
- Installed glove box and door and lock.
- Installed grab handle.
- Installed accelerator pedal.
- Installed high beam switch… works.
To Do:
- Install drive shaft.
- Tighten right front wheel bearing.
- Fluid in radiator.
- Install rear shocks and steering stabilizer.
- Replace brand new scratched windshield…. dammit…
- Weld threaded wheel lug on spare carrier (was broken off)
- Tidy up wire looms in engine compartment.
- Install side mirrors.
- Install hood.
- Bolt down body.
- Install fender brackets.
- Install tailgate latches.
- Install engine compartment braces.
Looks like Wednesday night test drive!!!!
