We are about the same age and I know it must have been a tough decision to pull up stakes and move.
Cali is a beautiful state, it's a shame that so many regulations have made it unbearable for so many good people.

This isn’t a where I took it or what I did to it issue - but after dealing with 90deg + days, I had to share my joy of having an iced CJ this morning - the sun had started working on it by the time I got outside, but it was still a bit icey...... it’s about time.

Replaced the gauges in the speedometer cluster. Now the line from the ignition switch to gas gauge gives me fireworks. I have been troubleshooting all day. I hate wiring

New member here. Put the hei in. And learned about the back valve cover screw on the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . Read it was hard to get to. Found three different types of screws holding the valve cover on. The back one was a phillips screw.

Wow just wow... was 60 miles away from home it got pretty cold and really windy while I was at work so thank God I decided to take my winter suit home with me from work because the battery got weak, I was able to get to an orielly auto to check the alternator and battery out, couldn’t get it cranked back up without a jump alternator failed charge test, they didn’t have an alternator in stock, autozone down the street said they did, had to buy a battery just to get it cranked back up since mine wasn’t taking a charge on their machine, got to autozone took alternator off in the parking lot with the adjustable wrench that I bought at oriellys since I don’t have any tools in the Jeep yet. Well they don’t have an alternator in stock after all.... surprise.... now I’m wondering how I’m getting home.... decided to re install alternator and see how far I get, noticed the regulator terminals were pretty rusty so I cleaned them up when re installing alternator... guess what my volt gage that I thought was broken starting reading a steady 13 volts. Awesome well when I get to where I was originally trying to go I can’t find my wallet... hauled butt back to autozone and thank God my wallet was still laying on the ground right where I had parked and worked on my Jeep at. So now my phone was down to 7 percent battery... great

Good news I made it all the way home without further problems thank God

LMAO yes I’m really glad I’m not on my way to the trails yet, I am finding out pretty fast that I need lots of shake down mikes on my Jeep

Even when you think you got all the bugs worked out it's a little nerve racking driving 1/2 way across the country to really test drive it on some tuff terrain, then drive it back home.

I drove my CJ7 up to Scottsdale AZ for the good guys car show. Didn't take it in or display it but saw some cool vintage and custom rides.

joy of joys, started yesterday morning off by finding this, but at least the tire was still up. Stuck a plug in it and off to other adventures.

Spent a whopping .80 cents for new zipper pulls.

Finally got the tank dropped on my CJ. The fuel pump was barely sipping fuel from the tank.
After I got it most of the way out I noticed the line from the fuel pump, where it goes into the tank, was cracked all to Helena as I was bringing it down. Well, I figured I'd put this much work into pulling the tank, I might as well pull it all the way out and inspect everything.
Everything looks good, almost no rust and very little varnish but all the rubber lines going into and out of the tank are junk. I'll probably order new filler and vent hoses too while I'm at it.
Oh happy day! I don't have to buy a new gas tank!

Sounds like me with my first Jeep. I swear, every time I went out in that thing someone had to pull me out, jump me or give me a ride home or to an auto parts store!
