ok, so...cleaned the messy garage so I can work on it, aligned it in the garage to prepare for body removal, first will be front clip and engine removal followed by the body. Already have the front axle, engine and radiator sold as soon as removed, already sold the Dana 300 . Then start on the frame replacement weld and paint prep.

Anything left of the original Jeep? 😁

Pulled my newly installed radiator and water pump to replace leaky water pump gasket. Now I get to wait for my heater core to water pump hose to arrive as the old one died during removal this time.

wasn't much original to begin with, rusted frame, front clip and drivetrain, all of which is going bye bye, have replacement fenders, drive train, grill and frame, the hood might be the only original item left lol.
I just want a leaf spring Jeep with a CJ front end, everything else is fair play for a custom job, would love to have an original CJ7 Jeep to tinker with I could leave as original as possible, just not in the funds at the moment.

CJ went into storage at my parent's while life settles out.

Instead of letting it sit and be useless we threw a water pump on it and my dad has been daily driving with it. :drive:

Probably been 25 years since he drove a CJ and he's loving it. Apparently took a couple days to remember why everyone was waving at him "Oh yeahhh... the Jeep Wave..." 😄. Now if he would just stop trying to buy it from me...

ughhhh, some common sense advice I lacked last Nov. Always verify any part ordered when it comes in if you don't intend to use it soon. Last Nov. I ordered oem fender flares, just opened box...got 2 front left, I front right and 1 rear.🤪<---I'm a retard

Today I put a new battery in it, Then verified the block number to make sure it is a Iron Duke, now I can order my new Transmission and other goodies 🙂

Well, surprisingly, I did receive some help from Amazon, due to the age they were only able to issue a refund minus a small return fee which they are accepting and sent me a return label. They were drop shipped from Quadratec, and when I contacted them first, they refused to help since I went through Amazon and not them directly.

Had a similar experience with a product from Advance Adapters bought from Summit Racing. Glad I used the bigger retailer to buy an expensive product.

Smashed my knee into the 4 way flasher button, it stuck..........................so I pulled the button off the spline shaft, followed by salty words and a channel lock and I pulled....................the whole damm thing out of the column. Saltier words! and at least the flashers stopped.

I too have always had good experiences with both Summit and Quadratec. Don't get me started on Morris though

New steering gear! Much better! I would be happier IF the mechanic had done the steering shaft bearing as well. I know I mentioned it to the service writer and had the part staged in the jeep. So next Friday investigations and scheduling. :wtf:

After a year and a half outside under a car cover the jeep is back in the garage. There are no longer " two more valuable cars," as my wife informed me back then. One has moved out. Now, if it moves back home, I'm kicked back out under the cover. The misses say's we should be optimistic. I will enjoy each day it's inside again.

Both my wife's and my Jeep sit out all winter, with all my :dung: and the CJ in the garage, there's no more room, need to add a car port of some kind so the wife's Jeep at least isn't as frozen when she goes to work in the morning and a little less scraping and cleaning for me.

The cover was a good alternative for me, and the cost was right for the job. They handle all the stuff that falls from the sky, no scraping ever, and they go on and off in about five minutes. The only thing they won't do is keep it warm for those cold mornings. That being said, I'm glad to be back inside. I went with carcovers.com. The fit was near perfect in spite of the mods to the jeep.
