I added a smittybilt winch as well. I'm going to have to check the wiring out though. I'm getting all kinds of battery charge indications. And the turn signals work for awhile and then don't. Maybe it's time for the dual battery set up...... Oh honey!:)

put about AMC 150 miles on it today. Things seem to be coming back to normal. Replaced the turn signal flasher. The fact I may be overlooking is that the painting was delayed a few weeks because of sub-zero weather. The jeep sat idle, un-started, for 57 days while the suspension was worked on, new metal parts were painted and cured, and a winch installed. I gave the battery a good exercise today and a chance to recharge. Everything seems to be working within normal limits this afternoon. Fingers crossed..... I'm still considering a second battery or a disconnect between the battery and the winch.

Do the second battery. I have a winch, front light bar, inverter, OBA, and power outlets all connected to the secondary battery. Works great and no concerns using stuff at the campsite and then starting her back up in the morning. Check this thread: Dual Battery Install

Great info, Thanks!

Nice find.

Pretty good placement

I'm kinda sorry I didn't have a reason to look for a new location earlier. So far this totally rocks. Solid in all respects! I'm going to put a tape measure on the bolts that hold it down. I want to know if they are capable of applying those locking knobs to them. Locked inside the hardtop I probably don't need them but it sure would be nice for those putting it in a soft top or attached to a scrambler. I'll post it when I can get to it

If I try that I might install 2/3 up so that it would be farther in, away from the loading area of the back of the Jeep. It would be lower than the rear view mirror so that it’s not, blocking line of sight.

It looks to be. The pic is a little fuzzy on my computer but the hi-lift number is RC-875 I believe. The two knobs have large lock washers while the v-bolts have four smaller lock washers and four flat washers

I put mine lower due to the bars being covered. .I didn't want to loose the padding. I do have rear seat passengers from time to time as well. Grand kids in car seats mostly

Yeah that would only be with back seat out for sure.

The jeep was pulling a little to the right on a hard brake so, you guessed it, new brakes in the front. The rears didn't show much wear at all so they got re-adjust and expect them to start showing use now. On a different note, a re-read of previous post, I put in a new CJ window frame, not a YJ. Sometimes I get typing faster than I think. The YJ frame doesn't line up with the window defrost and requires a lot of work to make useful. I don't suggest that swap out to anyone. I know a lot of people would like to have rid of the window seal on the CJ frame but I don't think it is worth it.

With over 300 days of sunshine in the Centennial State, we took the jeep down and tinted everything but the front windshield with 20 tint. All the imperfections showed up as it dried but I value the 99% UV protection more. He looks better too!
