Unpacked my CJ from hibernation, and it fired right up

Put my DUI dizzy in finally! Runs sooooo much better and I don't even have it fine-tuned yet.
Put the new one in the same as the stock one and the plug wires (Live Wires) are all goofed up. Too much strain on some of them with weird angles and such. So I guess I gotta get that sorted out. Had to turn the idle down a bit and now I don't smell that gawd aweful smell when decelerating. I even get a little water out of the tail pipe now she's running so well. Before it would smoke some and blow black smoke when you revved it. Not now!

Cool Grumpa 👍🏼
Similar situation here after a rebuild, hopped cam & sniper. It's still learning but the engine is broken in, rebuild/break in oil changed.
Still getting wisps of white smoke but rarer now. As expected after a rebuild.
Starting still makes me grin, standing next to it, flip the key, it primes, blip key=PRRRR
Happy trails & ice cream runs ✌️

While in Moab, at some point, we twisted a little bit into a strange position for a moment and dislodged the side straps that hold the radiator in place. This allowed the radiator to slide back and make contact with the fan. I thought I could hear a different sound to the running engine while airing back up. I couldn't find anything apparent so just continued on. Checking fluids before driving home found the radiator down a half a jug. Needless to say, a radiator shop and resolder of the straps have us back on the road. Got in the jeep to head to the store and found low beam out on driver's side. Add two new Halogen headlights to the list. If that is all the damage during a great trip then I'm a happy camper.

Having found broken rear spring shackles I cussed it out and parts will arrive again. Probably not the jeep being at fault the shop who did the lift installed awsome stuff on the front springs and the front of the rear springs, however the rear stuff was old junk.

Looked at the poor thing, and had some hope that Fed Ex will bring the required parts today. Morris 4x4 screwed the pooch and sent a do not pick up msg to fed ex last week :wtf:. At least they refunded my shipping costs.

Parts are here! and I have night shift so delivered the jeep with parts to the local mechanic. I can't wait for the bill. i should send a copy of the bill to Morris 4x4 and ask them to pay it. :devilish:

Interesting. Mine is original. Hopefully there is a answer and some part out there.

Great info, thanks, and they are only $33.00 on Ebay. I'm glad they last as long as they do

Got the jeep back today only 215 bucks for the install. Tellico greaseable spring shackles, look like they are hard to break. The jeep rides better now than memory can say. Heading to Moab on Monday my CJ7 and a 46 CJ2 , the other MB owner dropped out for medical reasons and the JL owner had too as well. :drive:

I cant wait to go back to Moab next year
