What did you do to or with your CJ today?

FYI

In sufficient quantities, silicone can, in fact, be a structural adhesive.

It can help keep that rust, rusting away with water sealed up with it. :pissed:

Have I mentioned that I hate Star bits today? I have one I can tighten, but can’t loosen.

The back was so siliconed up I already cut it off so I didn’t catch it on fire too much when I was cooking everything with the torch.

Sigh.

Alright! I cut back the unneeded return line so it's not dangling down several inches, and plugged it up with a hex screw and hose clamp. So far so good, but if this doesn't stop the leaks, I'm out of ideas. 🤞

Fantastic day to own a CJ. This is what I love about North Carolina, you can get away with being topless in November. 👍

I’m jealous! I’m all put up for the winter. Monday I’m pretty sure I’ll get a few hours to try to remove a couple more T45 bolts.

It was a beautiful day. 74 degrees. Went and gassed it up today.

Gotta love the southern and western states. 👍 Makes me wonder why 90% of these owners of newer Jeeps never take the doors or top off. They just drive around with those tinted windows completely blocked off from the outside world. I would give a Jeep wave, but I can't see who I'm waving too. 😁

Amazing how much MPG improves when you're not leaving a trail of gasoline everywhere you go. 😁 👍

Walked into the back half of the shop, looked at the rolling frame, with the donor engine/Transmission next to it. Walked back into shop, continuing work to finish the 49 Ford truck. :(

Sometimes you gotta just let em sit.

Yup. I’m hoping to get some time this weekend. I’m in the warehouse daily, but need to bring in money, so I can fix more on the jeep, lol.

The soft top is back on! It's never really easy getting a Cj top on, but keeping it warm inside overnight definitely helped. No scraped knuckles. 👍

Yeah I’m seeing your problem. You have big garage syndrome. I have a 1 Jeep garage. I can get my top on somewhat when cold. Go drive it around for 15 -20 minutes with heater on and get the engine heated up good, then pull back in the garage and kill the engine. Give the garage about 15 minutes to warm up from the heat of the engine and the top has softened up from a warm garage and the top snaps are ready to finish installing. 😎

I'm hoping to get it up to the second notch on the frame, so the fabric is nice and tight. Thanks for the suggestion of driving it around with the heater on. I'll give it a try. 👍

It worked! Drove it around for like 30 minutes with the heat on full. It still took some effort to get the frame up a notch, but I got there.
