I spotted some Jeep wheels for sale on a local website. $75 for the set. I would like to get them, but am wondering if they would mount on my 84 CJ7 . They both have a 5 bolt pattern which leads me to think they should work.

The other part of my question is: I currently have 31 inch tires on my CJ ( Big O Bigfoots ) With the current lift, I could put 33s under there and I think I'd like to try 33s when these 31s are worn out. Does anyone know about mounting tires to wheels and sizes and all that? To sum it up:

1 - Will these wheels fit MY CJ?
2 - Will these wheels accept my current 31 inch tires?
3 - Will these wheels accept 33 inch tires as well?

Here is the description of the wheels from the online ad: jeep wrangler gambler factory rim. 5x4.5, 15x8

And here is the pic.

I am sorry to say no, they will not fit for a couple reasons:
1 - your cj's bolt pattern is 5 on 5.5 also shown as 5 on 139.7
2 - your center bore, the whole in the middle should be 4.25" or 108mm, those are smaller probably 71.5

As stated in the ad those are 5 on 4.5 or 5 on 114.3, the second number is the distance between two lugs measured center to center and skipping one lug, so not the one next to it but e next one over.

The center bore has to be big enough for your hub to come through.

As for the other questions kind of doesn't matter since the rim will not fit.

There are lots of things to consider when choosing rims and tires besides will it fit, like what will you do with it.

The rim also has two dimensions, 15 is the hight, the other is width, you will find plenty of options there too but 8" and 10" are popular widths. The size of the tire also depends on that with measurement. There are lots of good post already about tires and sizes do a quick search and you will find plenty of info.

Good luck

^^^thats good info!^^

But don't forget about backspacing. You have to take that into account as well when looking for wheels.
As for what will fit, you can also look for (IIRC) '97 and earlier F-AMC 150 , any Scouts or 1/2 ton Internationals, early CJs, and a few others i can't remember right now...
