You know you own a CJ when...

You know you own a CJ when...
Lean to the driver's side......you know you own an early 5

You know you own a CJ when you go to the garage and tap your hand on the fender before you go to bed every night. :notworthy:

When:
You are ssriously considering lowering and spreading your brake and clutch pedals to fit your driving position. Who does that with another vehicle? Really seriously, Who?

When you wave at several jeeps going by with strange looks from the drivers. Then you realize you're NOT in your CJ5 , but your toyota camry. :D

When a small canoe on top is WAY longer than your vehicle.

Not saying it can't be done, it most certainly WILL be done. But it does look odd.

Here is the Jeep I was referring to. They may not be 14 foot canoes but this is a sight to see.

You fix things that are not broken,

They may have not been broken but they were still in need or replacement/improvement.
:D

GR8Dain - First off I love the picture. Second thought, is that even a CJ, no matter what it's longer than the CJ5 which is of little consequence because the picture is great. You can see from the above picture what a 17' canoe looks like on my CJ, honestly I'm becoming used to the look, I kind of like it. I haven't got the rack started yet, the canoe will not ride on the windshield and roll bar. With the slipstream shape of the canoe
I wonder if mileage might increase a little. :)

Sorry for the subject matter hi-jack of sorts

You know you own a CJ when you have to take your grill off three or more times to get a new radiator and electric fan installed. And taking all freaking day. Just to save on labor rates. Nah. I can't see paying someone to do a job that is able to be done by about anyone.

When you work overtime just to buy more Jeep parts for a vehicle that you have put more money into than you will ever get out of it. But... you still sit with pride in the drivers seat and think... what else can I buy for this beautiful beast.

When:
Your taking your 23 year old daughter someplace and at every stop someone (95% of the time a woman) asks, "What year is your jeep." And they seem pleased with the answer.

Then to top it all off the daughter smiles and says, "Does that happen all the time?" With the honest answer being, "Yes it does."

I've never been good at meeting woman, after 29 years of a failed marriage I can't help but wonder if there might be something more I could do................... you know, with the right smile and follow up ................. Gosh I love my, "It's a 1975 CJ5 mam, thank you for asking." jeep.

i generally just turn my head grin and say "77" then pop the clutch and floor it, hmm maybe thats why i don't have any friends.

you know you own a cj when 3 guys in a early ford bronco drive by in a jaw to the floor stare.

You know you OWNED a CJ when you sell it then cry like a baby as it drives away…… Mike Brewer on “Wheeler Dealer: Trading Up” – Brazil (2014) They showed the poor guy who just his CJ5 to Mike; it wasn’t pretty but we can all feel his pain.
