When:
You are ssriously considering lowering and spreading your brake and clutch pedals to fit your driving position. Who does that with another vehicle? Really seriously, Who?
1981 CJ5/258 4.2L I6, Tremec T-176 4-speed, Dana 300, Power Steering, Howell Throttle Body Injection System, Warn Locking Hubs, Warn Rock Crawler front/rear bumper with Tire Swing Carrier, Full Roll Cage, Pro Comp ES9000 shocks
GR8Dain - First off I love the picture. Second thought, is that even a CJ, no matter what it's longer than the CJ5 which is of little consequence because the picture is great. You can see from the above picture what a 17' canoe looks like on my CJ, honestly I'm becoming used to the look, I kind of like it. I haven't got the rack started yet, the canoe will not ride on the windshield and roll bar. With the slipstream shape of the canoe
I wonder if mileage might increase a little.
You know you own a CJ when you have to take your grill off three or more times to get a new radiator and electric fan installed. And taking all freaking day. Just to save on labor rates. Nah. I can't see paying someone to do a job that is able to be done by about anyone.
When you work overtime just to buy more Jeep parts for a vehicle that you have put more money into than you will ever get out of it. But... you still sit with pride in the drivers seat and think... what else can I buy for this beautiful beast.
When:
Your taking your 23 year old daughter someplace and at every stop someone (95% of the time a woman) asks, "What year is your jeep." And they seem pleased with the answer.
Then to top it all off the daughter smiles and says, "Does that happen all the time?" With the honest answer being, "Yes it does."
I've never been good at meeting woman, after 29 years of a failed marriage I can't help but wonder if there might be something more I could do................... you know, with the right smile and follow up ................. Gosh I love my, "It's a 1975 CJ5 mam, thank you for asking." jeep.

You know you OWNED a CJ when you sell it then cry like a baby as it drives away…… Mike Brewer on “Wheeler Dealer: Trading Up” – Brazil (2014) They showed the poor guy who just his CJ5 to Mike; it wasn’t pretty but we can all feel his pain.
