I met a guy that has some Yukon axles that'll fit the CJ. I'll replace the bearings and seals, but he wants to me make an offer. i don't want to lowball him, and at the same time I don't want to overpay. What would everyone pay?

Also are these any better than the Mosers?

Thanks.

cuban11182,
Used would be half of new or $75 each, $AMC 150 for the pair.
Moser are better, but Yukon are good American made axles.
But that's my opinion, since I have a pair for my Dana 44 .

Yukon are good American made axles.
Yukon is a good axles shaft, but not American made. Their made by Punjab Bevel Gears in Ghaziabad, India. I know the box may say "Made in the USA" and that's true, the "box" was made here just not the shafts.

So I'd I get the shafts, new bearings and and seals then it'll put me at $260 ( he told me $200 for the shafts now). For an extra 20 I can get a new set of Mosers. That to me seems like the better idea.

When buying used axles like that you gotta figure in what a new set will run, with bearings and seals, vs buying new bearings and seals to put on the used axles

As you've said, you're almost at new price by the time you replace bearings and seals on those used axles. Not even close to being a good deal.

I wouldn't pay over $100 for a set of used axles. I had a pair of Superiors given to me, and even then I had a hard time looking at what I'll spend by the time I buy new bearings and seals, when compared to a new set.
