Build Thread 1977 Cj7 Golden Eagle
Kickit, the jeep is running phonominal thanks to your help of telling me to adjust the carb! i cant thank you enough!:notworthy:

Thanks:chug: i cant wait to see your 79 Renegade  are there any levers thru the floor? if not its a quadra-trac Transfer Case ! nice find!
It's a QuadraTrac , auto and a AMC 304 . We spent the day chasing down a Cherokee Chief, with a dissapointing ending. You can read about it on the non-cj Jeep threads, so I didn't get it home this weekend :(.

the jeep is runnings good so far the carb is still giving me trouble. i might be looking for a new carb or i might adjust this one out not sure. but i cleaned it out, all kinds of tools, that i thought i lost, i found in it. for a first restoration, this wasnt too bad. next project.... (hopefully) CJ7 with a cummins:cool:

:notworthy: I have literally been dreaming of a CJ7 with a cummins and built drivetrain to match it for about 5 years. Im probably just going to have to wait till I finish colledge before I get to do all that though :(

Well all i have to say is superlift really surprised me with the flex, i really like it.

well i do have the Eye lids, but i need the screws lol figures, in a box in my rafters.

well the jeep is running like:dung:. it will run good once you first fire it up, then in a bout 8 minutes it will start spittin and sputtering and once it goes under 1000rpms it will just shut off and act like its flooded. i was thinking fuel pump:dunno: i could be wrong. any opinions?

Usually the fuel pump gives the opposite problem. No fuel , not too much fuel. Im late to the party on this one somehow but was the carb rebuilt? Sounds like it may be a float issue in the carb , like maybe its set just a little too high?

sounds like carb to me too. what brand is it? if its eddlebrock or something it might just be worth it to get a new holly

actually its the original motorcraft 2100, i had it rebuilt, about 2 months ago and it just started giving me problems 3 days ago. before it started acting up it ran great. i ordered the fuel pump anyway because the one on there was there when i bought it, so its just another precaution. one less thing to get me stranded on the road. i was thinking about throwing another one on there but i wanted a 4 barrel with a 5 1/4 filter seat so i could keep my original air cleaner on it. i just am clueless, like i said it ran fine before it started acting up 3 days ago.

well while i was at the place where i found all the parts i stumbled accross a 1980s carter 4 barrel carb!

on the box, it had 300-400.00 i picked it up for 200.00. been in the original box since the 80s! all i need is the intake, and on it goes!

i got the intake and carb on the old AMC 304 today, after about 10 revolutions it fired up, the stalled because i had to tune it up, but after i tuned it up, it ran like a champ!

tomorrow i will post pictures of it on the engine.

the decals arent decals, its all hand painted lacquer paint:cool: from the PO, although its original color was white, the original color was oakleaf brown on the original 77 which was shot. ill be painting it this spring.
