3.2 liter engine...

Need to either rebuild or replace the 3.2 liter (233cid) engine in my 78 CJ5 . Question: Is a 4.0 liter Crate Motor a "Drop in" replacement? Having difficulty locating a 3.2 liter replacement.

Assuming you have the AMC 232 i6 I6, it's just a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l with a shorter stroke. A 4.0 will bolt in where a 232/258 was, but I don't know of there may be differences in them.

There are a lot of good wrights up on swapping a 4.0 in a CJ on the net. Google is your friend.
