haha kudos on the jeep... however thank god youre gettin rid of the yellow... it is HIDEOUS lol

Yes the yellow is one of those love / hate colors. :) It just wont fit with the Outlaws and black Tj flares. Plus the yellow fades and gets chalky pretty easy. Just remember the next paint I choose could be worse. :D Its definitely something you don't see everyday and I have yet to see it on a Jeep. Its only going to be the bumpers most likely though. The rest is getting blacked out.

It's about time you get back to working on the trail rig.:D

You could paint it like Rowdy Bush's car in his new ad campaign.
Shades of Pink with <-BAD WORD-> cats & baby seals!
Your little girl would love that.:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Oh God No!! I do like that commercial though.

I kind of liked the yellow flairs.

I'll get a better pic of them when I get home. Even with that prep spray stuff it just didnt adhere to the flares as well as Id like. It'll also give you an idea of the fading. Once I put the diamond plate on there I already began thinking about ditching the yellow.

Its kind of too bad they don't make flairs in colors other than black.:D

Or that Im not a professional painter. :) Heres a pic now that a year has gone by. Im no body man or painter but I know I didnt put enough care into my rattle can paint job. :D Ive heard that the Krylon fusion paint works on flares but I was already all in with the color yellow I was using. It faded on the hood hinges as well. Heres a pic for Ya of what it looks like now.

That said it still needs some upgrades to make it more trail worthy. The weather is getting good enough to work on her now so look for a few mods coming up. What mods you ask? Tj flares I already have in the shed so thats a no brainer. Definately getting some new shoes and putting them on the Outlaws that are also in the shed. To my daughters dismay all the yellow will be gone. I found some interesting paint that Im gonna try out hopefully sometime next week. After that the budget is gonna get blown up but thats for another time.

Tj flares?

Yup just like Old Dog said. If you don't mind trimming some sheet metal its a good alternative to a body lift. It doesn't change your center of gravity yet still gives you more tire clearance.

Well guys I have to admit I did something stupid. I got involved in some extra b.s. at work and lost my jeepin ways the past few months. What an idiotic thing to do. I repent my friends. I got more satisfaction out of working all day on the Cj than I did on that work b.s that lasted almost 3 months.

It was very gratifying getting a few things acomplished today. The clutch is adjusted to where I like it. The exhaust leak at the manifold is fixed. I took her out for a nice ride and then afterward rewarded her with a nice bath when we arrived home. Heres the obligatory pic after the bath.

One of the other things that had bothered me about the Cj was the broken fiberglass 1/2 door. It split along the seam for the door skin and the inner body of the door. I got a two stage epoxy / hardener , mixed them up , glued it together and clamped it.

Overall it was a pretty good day. I'll be taking her for inspection this week. Then it'll be time to start some upgrades. Heres to finding my Jeeping ways back. :chug: Silly me , I wasted some good weather already. :( Time to get back on track.
