Build Thread 83 CJ7 its time to get it done
Just wondering for future reference. Replaced Windshield a long time ago. They reused old rubber seal and leaked. Took it back couple times but still leaked. Finally sealed it myself. I doubt it is reusable again

When I get this figured out and bought I will gladly share the gory details

Yes please, at same point on mine where need to graft in the CJ windshield to YJ tub and would like everything functional.

Both times I've replaced windshield frames I've used new seals. I never heard of them being reusable. I've had a glass place install mine both times just cause I don't trust myself. 😉

Yea that's what i was thinking. Probably 20-25 years ago I brought it to safelite with an aftermarket seal and they did not use it and I ask why. Guy said he couldn't get it to work. Well reusing the old not so well either. Brought it back and still leaked. Finally just sealed it myself

I have a YJ tub and W/S frame that have both been modded to accept a CJ dash and heater box. When I had new glass put in the frame, I had the glass shop do it, and he made it look simple - but I didn't wanna open that can of worms. And zero leaks...

I haven’t looked at his site/blog in awhile but a member here has http://www.certifiablejeep.com. And he has documented several YJ tub swaps, he goes all out welding up different mounting holes and everything I just created the holes for the CJ tailgate to work and the brackets for the cables and then cut the middle section of the cowl out and welded in a new piece to replicate the CJ cowl, I stopped there after that I started filling left over bolt holes with bolts lol

Yea Craig is a serious builder of Jeeps. He is the middle of a cool one right now. I would like to have 50% of his skill and ingenuity

Don't know anything about that one. Watching a CJ8 / CJ10 mixture of pieces coming together. Double single roll bar 2 in the bed 1 in the cab

Here's a pic of the Cj truck he's working on. Haven't heard or seen anything on the Cuda. Can't see how he'd have time with this project going on.

Playing with the side side side project a 1918 Ford Model T door hole, I got some POR 15 metal prep after it and it still works great

Today I found out that 102 year old wood smells the same as new wood when you burn a drill bit thru it..... I can’t believe the stuff hasn’t turned to dust over all these years
