Lol we are moved in but still lots to do, my garage has a small opening to the attic with no stairs so that still has to be cut open stairs installed, flooring to go up there. So much has been going on it’s been [emoji12] crazy. The stomach bug has now been thru the whole house, great news is that I will have 2k to spend on the Jeep when the money from the old mortgage company shows up, I will have the new driveshaft, clutch slave cylinder, cat converters and oil that I need to put the Jeep on the road, from there I will start shopping for a hardtop and doors gonna be a great time ahead

Luckily mine came with a hard top and full doors. They’re phase two. I would love to have a set of the fairly hard to find fiberglass uppers for the half doors. I’d run this with the hard top and leave the half doors on year round

Mine came with soft top & soft doors. I bought 1/2 steel doors and 1/2 soft widows and they work well for me. Even when I drove mine daily the first 16 years I rarely had the top on, and only when it was real cold or I knew it was really going to storm. When it was above low 40s it was jacket and gloves time. It was just part of the adventure. In the summer here there are afternoon showers and I would drive down the road with only the bikini top on. The windshield and bikini top keep you pretty dry unless there is a hard cross wind.

I don’t have an issue with the soft uppers other than with the fiberglass uppers and hard top you can actually lock it. There will be times I’d like to be able to do that without having to use full hard doors.

Yeah I only lock my 1/2 doors when I don't have the windows on. And I also disabled the unlock button on the inside. I try to keep it clean inside to not attract attention

What hardware set do you have? CJ or YJ? If you don’t already have the YJ hardware and can scrounge it up cheap, a replacement skin can be had for 300 bucks.

Yeah it actually looks like they just don't really make the regular softtop anymore. The fancy deluxe model is now arm and leg. Thought about buying and storing one for future years ahead because mine is probably 15-18 years old but great condition because I rarely use it. Look at the price of a scrambler top if you can even find one.

Call some of the Jeep boneyards and see if you can snag the hardware. I got a set for 80 bucks a while back.
