Sure looks good.

Are you stick welding, and if so, which rod are you using...?

Got to practicing beads with 3/32 7018 on 1/8" (DCEP/85 amps) yesterday. Did okay... had trouble establishing an arc. Once started I did okay.

I don't think 7018 is the best for tacking. Will try some 6011 today.

I haven’t struck an ark in a long time, I went to school and learned to be a structural steel welder, set your welder up to 120 amps for the 7018 and try to strike it like a match for the 6010/6011 set it to 90/100 amps and same thing strike like a match. We were taught that the 6010 was a root weld and the 7018 is a cover rod for thick metal have fun with it I enjoyed stick welding

Lol the bumper diagram I was referencing had a triangle mount with now measurements for size reference so I decided to play it safe and go round.... speaking of which I need to get it drilled and studs installed this weekend

I like the round plate...... I don't remember now why I went with rectangular. Honestly I think it was a drop that was lying near where we were standing, I looked down and thought "Hmmm, I think that would work".

I live for over complicated tressful decisions......

My store bought bumper mounted tire carrier is round also. Except for the latch it looks just about the same. Just not quite as robust as yours but I'm not going to mount a 42 " tire on there either. Sent from my 2 seat outhouse not using Tapatalk
