Well pastor said this morning that chill is ok but don’t let it turn into laziness..... I ducked down in my chair so he couldn’t give me the stink eye lol



So I decided to sweat it out while the little ones were in bed only causality I had was my big toe when the slip yoke slipped onto my bare toe.... still freakin hurts

Bump stops back in

Even better got the skid plate dropped and driveshaft and Dana 44 yoke installed..... don’t get to excited I still don’t have the 3.91 ring and pinion and the wife won’t let me save for it til I pay off the state of Texas

Next on the list is to make some spacers for the lower shock mounts so my mounts won’t eat up my shocks also to get the skid plate back in place, hopefully I can get that done tomorrow

And the manual says just pull that stupid ring out and the plug is supposed to pop out the end of the valve body somehow as well...... maybe 20 years ago but not today

I’m pretty sure this makes it a variable ratio box.... have no idea where this box originally came from tho, it’s a spare I got years ago I thought it was an original CJ box when I got it

It’s in the service manual surprise.

I think that I have decided that I somehow got ahold of a steering gear from a 1976 Jeep years ago and I am going to rebuild this thing just to be stubborn

I’m pretty sure both of these shafts will leak, sweet thing that one of the old timers I work with grew up in his dads machine shop and is willing to show me how to braze repair both seal surfaces

So box #1 came from my CJ which I thought was stock but is in fact a variable box with the metric hose fittings

Box #2 is the variable box I disassembled yesterday and it has SAE hose fittings

I think one of them is going on eBay when I finish building it
