Well I have the same pattern all the way around shum8,cold air , I’m tempted to throw a rotted 5 k at it to see if it comes out with a perfect pattern, I’m on hold with the axle til I get money for moser shafts

“Perfect” is gonna be tough - I’ve fairly seen the wear patterns perfectly centered on both sides of the teeth. I would be more concerned about this

Than this

I think another rotted 5k would help get the patterns away from the tooth edge. More than likely it will shift the pattern horizontally along the tooth, but that’s not really a problem unless to hit the end of the tooth

Worth a try to throw another .005 at it then check your backlash.

I don’t understand how 1 side can move so much on the ring without it affecting the other side but I will surely take it

So now I have .02 behind the pinion bearing .065 to get the pinion bearing preload backlash of .008 and .035 on the driver side carrier bearing I forget the passenger side number tho

We had a nice visit. You all are going to like this guy when you meet him. And thanks again for introducing us to fajitas. They were good. The rest of you might want to watch out for gert when he gets his jeep done. It's going to be a handful. I suggested that he use a garage door spring as a throttle return. I was going to take a picture of gert and I together but forgot to so here's one of me and gert can post one of himself if he likes.
