A tale of two carbureutors

A tale of two carbureutors
finally got to drive it today, and i love how it feels. You guys were right, it is beyond night and day, and I definitely think this is the best thing I've done to the jeep so far. it has great pick-up, it gets up and goes when I want it to, and chugs along down the road happily under part-throttle when I don't. It doesn't buck or surge, and it doesn't die when I stop, turn, or slow down, and once the engine is warm, it cranks with just a touch of the key. If anyone out there reads this and is on the fence, let me tell you - DO IT. I haven't even completed dialed in the choke, tuned the carb with the vacuum gauge, or rechecked the timing, and it's already 10x better than the BBD ever was. the stories are true, this carb is awesome on the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l , and with a Nutter bypass, it's the best thing besides going to fuel injection.

I love it, and I have you folks to thank for the help.

Thanks for the update. :chug:
I suggest you start keeping a log book of the work you have done(down to the smallest detail).
It pays off when the CRS kicks in.:D

That's half the reason I post - but the log book sounds better than AMC 150 (and growing) random pictures.

CRS? what's that again?? :D

hehehehehehe.....I turned 32 a few days ago, my kids keep me from remembering most things no matter what I do. :D

My 'youngest' will turn 41 in Feb. She still looks like a model.
CRS at times becomes CRAFT..........:D

I for one really support keeping a maintenance and modification log book with either mileage or date so you can keep track of when what was done.

I an sure you still would like to have TBI but is it as urgent as it was a month ago? :driving:

Mine are 5 (twin girls). I'm learning that craft thing you speak of.

On doing it now - had to replace the headlight switch agin, so yeah - when, what it was, and where I bought it.

Not in the slightest. I'll do the junkyard MPFI, eventually. The urgency is totally gone now, just like you said. I love this thing. Oh - and I found a YJ tub... Let the research and the great tub swap begin!!

Glad you got it all figured out and now are enjoying! :chug:
