I believe there is a oil temp switch located next to the oil pressure switch on the side of the block. this should give you give you 12V with a warm engine.
I have never had a working electric choke so I will not claim to be expert on this one.

RIP Mike, we'll all miss you
I had mine hooked thru the oil pressure switch, so when the engine was running, the choke got 12V.
