Bikini Top with Doors

Just as a followup, I got a good deal on some used soft doors and am pleased with the result. The gap with the bikini is less than I expected at about 1-1/2". Tried them out and happened to have a good rain event at the same time which was a bonus. I couldn't believe how enclosed it felt. There was very minor air movement in the front cab even at 65mph. I only felt a couple of drops coming in from the gap.

I can see getting wet with a hard side driving rain but definitely won't care.

I think some where it was written that you are fairly new to the jeeping community. It always surprises me just how dry it is inside the cab with just a bikini top. A little rain from the side and some blowing in from the back. All in all a dry ride. With doors it's dryer, more cramped, more cage like, less free, far more noise .... oh my god I can hear Mell Gibson now yelling ... "FREEDOM". However I digress. BTW have you heard that Scotland is once again hollering, .... "FREEDOM". It would be foolish of them to get it, but you've just got to admire a stubborn Scotsman. Also, BTW I'm Scotch/Irish myself......... I choose to ignore the English and Welsh parts.

No, I thought this was a jeep I saw in a this is my new jeep threads. Probably another black jeep. No disrespect intended. As I rethink about the post I suppose it could have come off as being condescending. I am seriously surprised at how dry a simple bikini top can be. Especially with doors added with the unfortunate addition of the door tops rattling.

I was having a little fun, but I thought nothing to make you upset. I was actually making fun of myself and the freedom thing with Scotland voting to separate from England.

I run with a bikini top and half doors all year around. But I work in a building that not climate controlled. I've had one issue with rain. I was going home over the Hathaway bridge and it was blowing rain from the north. I got soaked! Other than that I hardly ever get wet.

You are right, side rain or a passing car in deep water can be a drenching experience. I tend to almost, but not quite, be like those bikers you see or know that hate the idea of wearing a helmet and rebel at the idea of riding in a car. They refer to a car as a cage. I tried running with doors, especially 1/2 doors and a bikini top on the CJ5 . Couldn't stand it, rebeled and took the doors off. I'd run without the bikini top, but the sun is to intense out here and it is nice to have a little control of the wind. But not to much.

It must not be in the blood though. MY youngest daughter told someone that I tried to kill her the other day. I said, "WHAT are you talking about." Her answer, I took her on the interstate without the doors on the jeep. If I could get away with it I'd remove the darned roll over bar, but I'm civilized enough to leave it on.
