LG. What kind of roads are out there in the Panamint area ? I'm going to be out there in your neck of the woods ( I know it is desert ) for the whole week of thanksgiving. My sister has a grand Cherokee, nothing like a CJ7 so I can't turn it into a beater that week. Thanks

Stopped off at Hoover dam today. I've never seen security as strict as it is there. We had to take my pocket knife and soda pop back to the Jeep. It's an engineering marvel for it's time. We didn't take any tours. Just the museum and walked around a bit. One of the crains that they used to build the dam is still there.

No pictures this time. Just been traveling and tinkering. I thought I heard the rear brakes grinding so I pulled into a truck stop and pulled the wheels. Brakes were worn pretty bad but not worn out. Decided to change them anyway. They were new when we left home. One pin that holds the caliper in had fallen out and I figured that's what I heard. It two days to get the parts and the manager came out to see what was going on. He didn't have me towed but didn't act to happy that I was taking up space. I didn't blame him but there wasn't much I could do. Immediately I knew it wasn't the back brakes making all the noise. Drove on to the next town that ha a NAPA and pulled into a Home Depot parking lot and called to see if they had the parts I needed. Guy said yup so I unloaded the Jeep ad had new pads installed in a couple hours. We're now sitting in a rv park in Payson Arizona. Tomorrow we plan to get to Arizona City to meet up with some old friends that we haven't seen in a few years and spent a few days with them.

PV has good roads in and out. Outstanding area to spend TG at.
The trials can change on both sides of the valley, with rain etc. The trails go from mild to wild.
You'll most likly get a daily air-show from the north end of the vly.

We stopped in Arizona to visit with some old friends for a few days. Every body has always said what a dry climate it is here. It rained the first two days we were here. While we were here we visited a dwarf car museum. All of his cars are hand built. More information by googling "dwarf car museum". There's some nice videos of him and his cars.

Interesting video !

If you ever get near his area this is a must stop. He's just as friendly in person as he is in the videos. We were just a few jo Blows that walked in and he was willing to talk about his cars and how he built them. If there had been a crowd it may have been different. No fee to get in but there is a donation box.

Probably should update. Earlier we tried to transfer some money from my IRA to our checking account. The credit union said we needed to be there to sign some paperwork. Couldn't be done electronicly. Needed to be done in person. So after the visit in Arizona we headed for wifeys brothers place in Mississippi to store the Jeep and trailer. From there we headed back to Maine just to sign my name a couple times. We've been here a week and will be headed back out Monday. I sure miss my Jeep. I haven't been away from it this long since I built it. We've had a good visit with friends and family and my garage but it's time to get back to what we started. Will be leaving here Monday morning to head back to Mississippi to get the Jeep and then to New Mexico to resume our trip.

Gulfport. We came across Louisiana via RT 10 and 12 from Texas. We'll be back through later. Would love to meet up with you then.

During the week might be challenging with work. On the weekend I could even take a ride to Gulfport and we could check out our jeeps.

We're leaving Maine this morning. Should be in Gulfport this coming weekend. I'll try to post something up.
