Let my Son drive my Jeep to school one day last week. He has little experience driving a 4 speed. He put the e brake on to avoid rolling backwards on a hill and his foot slipped off the clutch...(so he says)
Or he was trying to do a burnout...not sure. Anyway it cost me $AMC 150 .00 as there are no used ones around here..Looks to be good.

If the story sounds the least bit fishy, it usually stinks.:D I have never exploded a driveshaft like that even when trying.

I bet that made a big bang.

Looks good. I'm about ready to order mine. Whats the name on there; cant quite make it out.

Were they local or did they ship it?

Local guy wanted $100 labor + materials and taxes to retube it.

Ordered this one off e-bay $AMC 150 shipped and it has new u joints...
Ordered on Monday and it was in Sumas WA. for pick-up on Thursday.
I believe the guy is in Utah...lifetime guaranteed. Tatton's is the builder.

Looks familiar. It's really not as hard to do as one may think.

I did one time by going up a steep hill that was somewhat soft. It started to hop and twisted right off.

Another time I got to the top of a long rock climbing hill and was about to park and didn't realize it was still pretty steep. I let off the gas to sit there at the top and it started to roll me back down and I panicked and nailed it! I twisted the rear off, but luckily the front was enough to slow me down as I slid down the hill backward with tires spinning. I almost rolled and ended up against a tree with one wheel in the air.

Cool. I grew up in Bellingham, WA. Spent alot of time in BC playing hockey.

Since we are on the topic; did you by chance record your driveline angle?

Not the pinion or TC output angles, but the actual downward angle of the driveline. I read that anything over 15 and you should run a cv. I would think that any cj is over 15, especially with a lift.

Holly :censored: I don.t think you should let him drive the Porsch.

I bought the same driveshaft from cjtatton. Curtis makes the best cj driveshafts IMO. His # is 1-801-685-0056 if anyone wants to order one, Or you can order off ebay. Seller name is cjtatton..

Ya Curtis seems cool. Got back to me right away. I'm going to go ahead and order from him.

I need to rotate my 9" and recheck the angle. I never rotated it around and its still pointing down a little from when I installed it. Hopefully that helps enough.

I wouldn't think with a 4" lift I'd need a CV.
