I know this can't be right (coolant leaking from the rear differential), but what else could greenish liquid be?

Brake fluid leak?

Check the lines above your diff.

And that actually kinda does look like diff fluid. Doesn't look that green to me. Maybe the way the light is hitting it or the flash of your camera?

It's gotten water in it. Time for a clean out and new oil and check the breather that it's up high and working right.

Do you use distilled water and antifreeze, or did you go with the already mixed 50/50 jug?

It's definitely green.

Not likely. It begins to leak when I idle it.

From the looks of that lower rear cover, it looks like a failed seal on that diff cover.

Yeah, something is failing for sure. What should I be looking for on the cover to indicate failure? Pictures? Anyone have a part number for this piece?

Going to change the fluid this weekend and report back.

Stop driving it-
Bet you have it filled with water........
Check the axle breather line.

Will do. What exactly am I checking for? That it's up and out of the way? Anything else I should do?

Question: how would it have filled up with water? I haven't driven it through deep water.

Bad wheel seals, vent tube, condensation, leaky pinion seal, lots of ways to get water in there.

I'm going to guess there's no water in there, just a leak at the cover (gasket). The T19 I picked up years ago for my swap had a very "greenish" tint to the gear oil I drained out of it, and I'm relatively certain if there was any water it would have separated since the Transmission sat under the workbench of the guy I bought it from for years.

The smell of the fluid should be a quick tell.
