Okay folks. Rebuilding an AMC360 street use mainly. I understand 4bbl is a goods upgrade to stock as well as an edelbrock intake. What's the difference in performance and actual difference from an EGR vs. EGR version. Iowa is non emission state.

To me the EGR valve is a valuable asset. The mission of the valve is to lower the combustion temperature inside of the chamber thus reducing pollution however the added benefit is the wear and tear saving on the motor that result from lower combustion temps, extending engine life. The EGR valve cost nothing to run power wise so why not run it?

What Saddle Tramp states is well documented, like on the net. Plus another suggestion would be to add a pcv valve, so you don't have to smell that blowby.

Appreciate the info guys. Sometimes my head starts spinning as I'm trying to piece all of this together on my first build ever.
