Front locker with twin stick

Searched, and found the question in old posts, but no definitive answer. Im hoping a new post will get answers. I am thinking of putting a detroit locker (auto, not true trac) in the front but I dont want the steering nightmares i have read about. I have heard that unlocking my hubs will make the locker un-noticable on the road, but what about on the trail? i want to be able to lock the hubs and engage front axle as needed with twin stick. Now the question... will the locker affect steering with hubs locked but front axle in N?
