1983 Jeep CJ7 4 Cyl with T4 Transmission
Recently Bought a 1983 CJ7 that I believed had the GM 151 Gm 4 cyl in it. Now I am currently second guessing that as I am unfamiliar with 4 cyl of any kind let alone AMC. Long story short my 4th VIN Digit is "U" If I am correct this means I have a AMC 150 4 cyl right? All help is appreciated. This is my first CJ7

Post up some pictures of the engine and any casting numbers you find.
You never know what a PO has done.
LG

Mine is a U and AMC. I know the previous owner didn't change out the engine :) You probably have an AMC otherwise that would be a lot of work. Are there any decals left in the engine compartment or engine ?
