Build Thread Got my jeep today!!!!

Build Thread Got my jeep today!!!!
Thank You very much Darren. Finished up the wiring last night and installed the dash today. Got all but two of those tubes in, and the under hood wiring.

This is some flames I have always wanted to do. You can't see it but I sprayed yellow, orange, then red metalflake over this. I didn't want gawdy painted flames the effect I was trying to get with the metal flake is something that shows up in certain directions in the sun light. Too bad the results will never be able to be seen in a picture.

I'm shooting for putting the body on the chassis tomorrow. I guess I'll get rained on. Tuesday will be a paint day since it's suppose to be nice. Then maybe by next week.......

I have those same fender flairs. Leave them black or paint them the color of the jeep? They sure look good silver. I just don't want to overload with back. The wheels are gonna be black.

The silver flares are pretty cool. Worst case, if you didn't like them you could always paint them black later. It'd be harder to paint them silver later as the color might not match.
Also, I like the TJ mirrors- especially with the newer type flares.

The picture is one I found it's not my jeep but what I hope my jeep looks like around next week.

What a nasty day yesterday. I decided to rest my old muscles and hit it hard today. It's even suppose to get in the mid 50's today. I have a brake line to install. Then the new sending unit in the gas tank and I'm rolling the chassis to the body.

Whew! What a day. I started by doing as much as I could before having to run to get parts. After that I had the tires mounted. I swung by the glass place and they cracked my windshield taking it back out of the frame. OK, so I get a new windshield out of the deal. I head back home and start the task of getting the body on the chassis. What a job! It's bolted down and I went on to other stuff. I hooked up gauges, e cable, installed the steering column. Finally called it a night. Getting real close..........pics.....of course I couldn't go without bleeding. What is it with jeeps?

In the second picture from the left, look real close and you'll see where I installed my sending unit for the temp gauge. On the right of the picture is the stock sending unit that I couldn't get out. It should be ok there shouldn't it?

The next few days are doing the small stuff. I bolted the battery down, ran the battery cables, ran the heater hoses, put some stripper on the drivers door while doing all this. I cut the tranny cover out for the shifters.

I did crank it tonight. Why does the starter keep going even when the key is off?

Got the wiring figured out, got the doors figured out. Cranked it and ran it a while. Good oil pressure, didn't run it long enough to check the temp.

A few pictures from yesterday. I temp intalled the seats to mount the console. I installed the steering wheel but the shaft is not sticking out of the housing to connect it to the steering box. I can't figure this one out???

I just have to figure out what I did with the clutch spring and install it. I can take it for a little test run today. :) Can't go far without my windsheild though. I'll get pictures today.
