So I received my MC2150 today, and although I had planned on waiting till the weekend, I couldn't. It was very overwhelming looking over all the vacuum lines everywhere, but after a bit it got easier. I got it to the point where it ran, and idled (it hasn't since I purchased it a month ago). I still have to setup my timing, and plug in my vacuum advance (and where to plug it in to), but she runs and idles (albeit a bit low currently). I have a lot to learn yet (IE what do do when I tow it when I PCS, ported vs manifold vacuum, what should I eventually do with it), but I'm loving every second of it. This weekend I plan to have it road worthy so I can start driving it back and forth to work (7 min, about 5 miles).

In any case here are the quick pictures I took.

try ported and manifold for the dist. I think you will find it idles smother on manifold. I am not going to get into the pros and cons on this one , let you do the research and decide for yourself. there are enough discussions on the interweb to keep you entertained until Easter, at least.:D

I'll try both. Just need to pull out my vacuum gauge and figure out how to use it, lol.

Where are you here in town? How long till you pcs? Lots of local guys to help you out. Have you joined 3rd coast jeeps on Facebook to connect with everyone?

I live 1 mile off base and can help you out if you need it. I have carbs on two of three of my jeeps. (Wife's is 07 four door)

I live downtown (Bay Vista APTS). I'm slated to PCS next summer, so I have a bit. I don't have Facebook, too much drama, but I'm up to meet anyone.

Cool. I am on sick leave right now and am set to go back to work Monday so I cannot do anything till then but I can get you going quick once I am cleared. My 87 yj has been converted to be identical to a Cj for ease of work.

And my buddy Jake has an 85 CJ7 with AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and is here all the time. I live outside the south gate, off jester, on the pier side and Jake lives in the wharf apartments as soon as you come into the bluff. Of you are ever out cruising and come this way, my house is the one with all the wranglers/cjs in the driveway.

We can set sometime to get together and help you out. I have a vacuum gauge and everything needed to get that jeep going.

Now that's what wheeling a CJ should be all about. Thanks SuperJ for being a good wheeler, and thanks to both of you for your service. :chug: Sometines we forget about our brothers in the orange boats :p . My first trip once I get my CJ7 restoed is to go back down Padre Island. I've been half way down (30 miles), but really want to make it all the way. Good Luck, Rod

When you come down, hit up the third coast jeep club on facebook. some of the guys in 3rd coast jeeps go down every weekend (it sounds like on their weekend updates). I don't take my jeeps to the beach.

They will be glad to have another jeep to ride with.
